StacsHack is the Computing Society's annual inter-university hackathon, this time going to outer space!
What is a hackathon you ask?
It's the breeding ground of ideas: a bunch of interested, passionate and brilliant student developers get together for a weekend, they form teams of 2-4 people and spend their time learning about new and exciting technologies, building cool products, making new friends and competing against other teams!
We will provide the best possible environment for this, so you can fully focus on developing your idea:
We won't be leaving you hungry:
You will be provided FREE lunch, dinner and midnight snack on Saturday and both breakfast and the now traditional StACS HOG ROAST for lunch on Sunday!
Do you wish to learn about tech, but don't know where to start? We've got you covered:
We will have several talks during the event, delivered by our sponsors, as well as our own GitHub Campus Expert.
Do you have a team, but still looking for an idea?
No worries! We will have a fantastic team of both student and sponsor mentors to help you get started, or in fact any time you're stuck.
Is this your first event?
DON'T PANIC! Both the organising team and the participants are super helpful and will help you get started so that you can have the best hackathon experience.
Would you like to attend, but you don't have a team?
It's fine: many brave competitors come by themselves every year, looking to join others. So, in order to help you find teammates, straight after our opening ceremony, we will be holding an icebreaker event where you can discuss ideas with other lone hackers and partner up with them to form amazing teams!
Looking for a challenge?
Many of our sponsors will be providing challenges, and if you complete them you might win yourself fancy prizes! Also, these are a great way to start with your team if you're out of ideas.
